Ist Internist und Infektiologe. Er absolvierte seine Facharztausbildung in München, Boston und Atlanta und danach einen Post-Doc über Pneumokokkeninfektionen in Südafrika.
Seit 2007 arbeitet er in der Schweiz, zunächst am Institut für Infektionskrankheiten in Bern, dann am Kantonsspital Aarau und seit 2013 am Kantonsspital St. Gallen. Hier ist er Leitender Arzt in der Klinik für Infektiologie/Spitalhygiene und ist Mitglied der Programmleitung des Joint Medical Masters in St. Gallen.
Seine klinischen und wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte sind der rationale Einsatz von Antibiotika sowie Epidemiologie, Diagnostik, Behandlung und Prävention von Atemwegsinfekten und Impfungen allgemein. Seit mehr als 10 Jahren ist er im wissenschaftlichen Komitee des 2-jährlichen Schweizerischen Impfkongress.
Dr. Alexandre Lädermann is a leading specialist in shoulder and elbow surgery, currently serving at Hôpital de La Tour since 2011, where he heads the shoulder and elbow surgery development within the Division of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery. He holds the title of Privat Docent at the University of Geneva and is the founder of BeeMed and Med4Cast, as well as the president of the FORE foundation (Research and Teaching in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Trauma, and Imaging).
Recognized as a "World Expert" by Expertscape, Dr. Lädermann ranks as the number one scholar worldwide for shoulder surgery publications over the past decade and is placed in the top 0.2% of scientists in orthopedics by Stanford University. With over 350 publications to his name, he also serves as an editor for The Hive, the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty, and the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
His commitment to the field extends to significant leadership roles, including membership in the Central Committee of the French Arthroscopic Society (SFA) and past presidencies of the Swiss Shoulder Society and the Membership Committee of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC/ESSSE). He has also chaired major international congresses, including the SECEC/ESSSE in Geneva and the iCAST in Zurich.
